Security deposits
Transferring and Getting Yours Back
Why a Rental Deposit is Required
The rental deposit acts as a security for the landlord in case there are damages, unpaid rent, or other costs at the end of your stay.
Your deposit is returned after any outstanding rent, utility adjustments, or damage costs are settled. If your listing does not support online payments, the cleaning fee is also deducted from your deposit. If it supports online payments, the cleaning fee is collected with your first payment and is not deducted again.
Transferring Your Deposit
Before you receive your keys, your deposit must be transferred to the landlord.
You can find the landlord’s bank details in your contract under my booking.
Please include your full name and room reference in the payment reference so it can be matched easily.
Once you’ve made the transfer please upload it in your profile.
If you’re transferring the deposit from abroad:
Make sure to cover any international transfer fees so the correct amount arrives.
If you face delays due to bank processing or visa/residency issues, don’t stress — just let us know and we’ll help coordinate with the landlord.
Getting Your Deposit Back
Once your stay ends and you’ve completed the offboarding process, the landlord will review:
That all rental payments have been received.
Any differences in utility usage compared to what was paid.
Whether any furniture or items were damaged during your stay.
Based on this, the host will calculate your final deposit settlement.
The host will deduct the cleaning fee only if your listing does not support online payments.
This process typically takes 2–4 weeks after submitting your offboarding form.
We’ll do our best to assist you and make sure you receive your deposit as quickly as possible.
Cleaning Fee Deduction
If your listing supports online payments, the cleaning fee is collected with your first payment. Otherwise, it is deducted from your deposit at the end of your stay. It is not charged twice.
This covers the professional cleaning of the room/apartment after you leave. See Cleaning fee for details.
